Plastering Repair

Any plaster wall repair or ceiling drywall repair caused by water damage to your home's drywall or plaster can be repaired by Red Umbrella Painting Company.

Water is the most common source of this damage, which is typically seen in the ceiling. After a roof leak, drywall restoration is generally necessary. Water may cause damage to roofs. After repairing the source of the damage (leaking roofs, pipes, etc. ), our painters will repair the plaster walls in your home.

The water-damaged portion (if water was the source of the damage) is cut out and thrown away to prevent mildew from growing. With the recent moist weather in Massachusetts, plaster restoration has become more common in recent years.

New drywall is cut to the dimensions of the hole and fastened using 1 inch strapping and suitable screws, matching the thickness of your existing drywall or plaster. Mesh tape is used to the cut-out drywall seams, and two coats of sheetrock (stronger than drywall compound) are applied, followed by a low dust compound skim coat. The patch is primed after being sanded using our low-dust sanding process.

Then, depending on the scenario, we'll either blend in the repair or paint the entire ceiling. After we've finished painting your home, we clean up and remove any trash. Plaster repair can be done in calcimine, horsehair, and other systems. Call us now for a quote.
